Personal Health--Physical Activities

PhysicalActivity (10 hours due by Feb. 8)


During this winter holiday, I attended the karate club in the gym of longjiang in Nanjing. Our club is in charge of studying and training the kungfu of karate, I have trained from 7 pm to 9 pm at night, four times a week. I have got 24 hours totally for my karate training.


Karate is a famous kungfu made from Japan and it has a long history. In Japan, many old men can play karate for protect themselves and keep fit. karate is a kind of fistfight, it has high kill and wound ,not similar like Chinese Kungfu. There are many competitions about karate in Japan. Now, many Chinese also learn karate to keep fit and learn to protect themselves. During the holiday, I went to learn the karate with my friend Anna , she is not the student in GCA, but we are good friend.


Learning karate is not a easy thing to do. The first day, I saw our coach ,he is a strong man, although he is very young, just 28 years old. He told us learn karate should have a strong physique necessary, so we had half an hour or 45 minutes to warm up and exercise our physical stamina on each class. Our coach is outgoing and humorous after class but strict during class. We shouldn’t talk to other member s and laugh when the coach talking and training. If you don’t obey the rule, you will be punished by coach for the extra exercise about physical stamina. We should wear our costume of karate correctly. If we wear the back of costume in the front, it’s a big problem. It means the coach is dead. In karate, respect the coach is very important for the trainee , if we do that, we shouldn’t be trained for that class, and arrive at class on time is also important.

In my first class, when I finished the physical stamina for 40 minutes, I was tired enough. After that I was training the normal actions about karate and kicked the bundle, I was too tired to stand up when I finished the class. I felt very hard to do karate but I have the confidence enough and never gave up easily. In the following class, coach taught us many manners if we met the danger how to use the karate to protect ourselves. I t helped me very much I think.

During this holiday, I attended the karate club and I have learned a lot from it. I have learned many knowledge and history about karate and have learned many ways to protect myself by use karate. Also, do karate can keep fit and lose our weight. In this holiday, I lost 2 kg for doing karate.

After the new term begins, I will do the karate every week, keep doing karate to exercise and keep healthy. I believe I can do karate more and more better. I also believe that it will help me a lot in my life.
